Tailgate Guys BBQ Show, Episode 114: Tim Scheer, Brad Leighninger, Stan Hays

Brad Leighninger and Tim Scheer, Memphis in May Pork Shoulder World Champions for Team Blues Hog
Stan Hays, Operation BBQ Relief

On Episode 114 of the Tailgate Guys BBQ Show Podcast, we recap Memphis in May by welcoming Pork Shoulder World Champions Tim Scheer and Brad Leighninger. The Missouri duo combined to lead Team Blues Hog onto a world stage and they talk about how they did it, defying the naysayers, by cooking their “Grip It and Rip It” style of Hot & Fast on Gateway Drum Smokers.

Meanwhile, on the 10-year anniversary of the devastating F5 tornado that struck Joplin, Missouri, we talk it over with Operation BBQ Relief co-founder and CEO Stan Hays. Joplin was the origin of OBR, which has done so much work over the last decade. Stan shares his memories of the horrific scene in Joplin and how OBR came to be after that trying time and even offers up some backyard grilling tips.

Co-hosts Lyndal and Steve recap the week in BBQ, including last week’s show guest Myron Mixon winning Whole Hog at Memphis in May, along with his 5th overall World Championship. There’s also a lightning round of sports talk served up with the BBQ.
