We deliver a doubleheader of star power on Episode 25 of the Tailgate Guys BBQ Show, visiting with two of the more colorful characters of Q.
Craig Verhage is known as “The BBQ Ninja” for his distinctive look of a bandana, sunglasses and a bushy black beard. Craig, is a member of the legendary Ubon’s BBQ team out of Yazoo City, Mississippi and he tells us about how it came about to cook with Ubons and his relationship with the late Gary “Poppie” Roark. The second half of the show features Kansas City’s Joe Pearce, who is killing it on both the KCBS competition circuit and in the restaurant business under the SLAPS BBQ banner. Joe talks about what it’s like to be in a zone on the circuit, his days on BBQ Pitmasters and what is the perfect “rest” time for a brisket or pork butt.
