Tailgate Guys BBQ Show Podcast, Episode 15: Myron Mixon

Myron Mixon, Jack’s Old South BBQ

SPRINGFIELD, MO. (May 1, 2019) – He’s known as the winningest man in BBQ and the “Man in Black” with a competitive edge and drive to succeed that is matched by few. There’s only one Myron Mixon and we have him on Episode 15 of the Tailgate Guys BBQ Show.

Myron and his famous Jack’s Old South team are gearing up for Memphis in May, where they will seek an unprecedented fifth world championship in a couple of weeks. In a wide-ranging interview, we visit with Myron about his new book “BBQ&A” which is released on May 7, about BBQ judges, his line of products, what it’s like to cook a 220-pound whole hog and about how he’s dropped more than 100 pounds in the last year.

In our “Under the Radar” segment we feature Ron Olson of Gray Wolf BBQ. And Michelle Higgins fills us in on some big KCBS events in the central part of the country later this year, via the Ozarks BBQ Alliance.

The guys also take some time to brag a bit about the Tailgate Guys BBQ team’s performance at the 20th annual Rock’n Ribs BBQ Festival, in which they took home some hardware. Here are the Rock’n Ribs results.
