Matt Walker and Boomerang BBQ narrowly missed the championship in 2018, but he and wife Sarah are off and running this year with a big, early lead in the Team of the Year standings. We visit with Matt about the National BBQ League event this weekend in Springfield, Missouri and get his thoughts on the high costs of competition BBQ, how he admits to being a sore loser when judges don’t give his food high marks and basketball. Matt’s beloved Texas Tech Red Raiders are in the Final Four.
Meanwhile, Boomerang’s “rival” from 2018 Brad Leighninger of Gettin’ Basted (the 2018 KCBS champ) gives us a run down on the NBBQL activities this Saturday.
