A pair of recent KCBS-contest Grand Champions join us on Episode 84 of the Tailgate Guys BBQ Show Podcast – Paul Keltner from Tennessee’s Rooters-N-Tooters and Drew Davis from Arkansas’ Razorracks BBQ.
Rooters-n-Tooters is a serious KCBS Team of the Year contender after taking GC honors at the Smoke on the Falls in Gadsden, Alabama. Paul tells us about the team’s history and the outlook the rest of the way as it sits third in the points chase, just behind SLAPS and Heavy Smoke. Meanwhile, Razorracks earned top honors on Day 1 at the Oklahoma Grand BBQ Championship in Shawnee, beating out 55 other teams in a stacked field.
In a new twist this week, my wife and Tailgate Guys BBQ competition cooking teammate Karen Scranton sits in as co-host. We discuss tasty ways to use leftover BBQ and reflect on the memories of our first-place KCBS Pork, one year ago. Yes, even little teams can take home a big trophy “on any given day.”
