She’s one of the most-engaging people in BBQ, with a smile that could light a fire and mad pitmaster skills to match. You might have seen her on Home Shopping Network selling the Burnt Finger BBQ ready-to-heat-and-eat BBQ meals. Or winning her Episode on Food Network’s Chopped Grillmasters. Or cooking on the NBC Today show. This week, you can hear Megan Day on Episode 80 of the Tailgate Guys BBQ Show Podcast.
Megan and husband Jason comprise Burnt Finger, an accomplished competition team from Kansas City that has scored a perfect 180 in chicken at the American Royal World Series of BBQ and placed 2nd in ribs at Memphis in May. They also recently earned first place in both tomato-based sauce and hot rub categories of the American Royal sauce and rub contests.
We also welcome first-time guest Brent Bourland of Bees Knees BBQ out of Huntsville, Alabama. Brent and his best friend Jeff Cole teamed up to compete six years ago and have won numerous championships along the way. They’re also one of the featured teams on the popular Destination America TV Show “Bama-Q” and we learn more about Bees Knees.
