Season 1 of the Tailgate Guys BBQ Show Podcast wraps by visiting with Matt Walker, pitmaster of Boomerang BBQ out of Lubbock, Texas – the 2019 KCBS Team of the Year.
Matt tells us about an amazing season (17 Grand Championships, 5 RGCs) for Boomerang, which pulled off the KCBS “Grand Slam” – first place in all four contest categories – Chicken, Ribs, Pork and Brisket.
We also go on-location to historic Crosstown BBQ in Springfield, Mo. Pitmaster-owner Steve Williams fills us in on Crosstown’s upcoming 50th anniversary at the same location and the story behind him taking over for his dad as the man in charge back in 1984.
